Final concert – 12th of March, Lodz

Final concert – 12th of March, Concert Hall at Żubardzkiej 2a street at 6 PM.

Concert forms the final of a project”Promotion of cultural and artistic diversity by cooperation with Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź and the Telemark Chamber Orchestra” under the project “Promotion of Diversity in Culture and Arts within European Cultural Heritage” (financed by EEA founds from Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway and national founds).

The project was inaugurated in November 2014. It was an artistic and coaching undertaking which had as an aim to establish a new and constant partnership between chamber musicians from Norway and artists connected with Music Academy of Łódź. From the Academy of Music side, the participants were mainly professors of the University (who were playing concerts and conducting teaching classes in Norway) and String Orchestra PRIMUZ conducted by Łukasz Błaszczyk (which consists of the best students from a String Instruments Faulty). As a consequence of the project - the musicians of PRIMUZ Orchestra played various concerts together with Chamber Orchestra from Telemark both in Poland and Norway.

Since one of the aims of the whole undertaking was to create concerts based on native compositions - performed music was both Polish and Norwegian. Music played by the artists presented pieces of Frederick Chopin, Grażyna Bacewicz, Krzysztof Penderecki, Andrzej Panufnik, Wojciech Kilar, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Wojciech Lemański and Bogdan Dowlasz as well as Scandinavian music of Edvard Grieg, Jean Sibelius, Aulis Sallinen or Carl Nielsen.
All together - there were 16 master courses conducted within the project, among which – 8 were performed by professors from Łódź Academy of Music in Oslo. Moreover, there were 13 concerts played by PRIMUZ String Orchestra together witch Telemark Chamber Orchestra – 5 of them in Norway.
There were 60 people involved in this project and more than one-third of them were Norwegian. The public events were attended by more than 2100 people.
The joint venture of musicians from Łódź and Norway will be recorded on compact disc released by Academy of Łódź. The CD will contain: concert for violin and orchestra of Anrzej Panufnik, Concert for acordion and orchestra of Bogdan Dowlasz, two pieces of Wojciech Lemański („Fab Four” I, „Fab Four” II) and „Aase’s Death” of Edvard Grieg.
